Reprise fetes Neil Young concerts
Reprise Records will mark the 25th anniversary of Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit concerts with a 3-DVD, 2-CD retrospective on Oct. 24, as well as a concert doc, "The Bridge School Concert Film," to be released by Abramorama in 22 cities. Organized by Young and wife Pati, the Bridge School Concerts have taken place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. since 1986, with all proceeds benefitting the titular school, founded to assist children with severe speech and physical disabilities. Asking all performers to play acoustically, and often gathering the day's headliners for encore jam sessions, the October benefits have seen sets from Young (who performs every year), Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Metallica, Pearl Jam and Thom Yorke.
